The Linux kernel takes little time to break. I'm more familiar with the code and thus it also takes less time to isolate issues. Instead, I'll look at how it can possibly be true.

First point: The iPhone was released amidst a sea of dumb smartphones but did this fact stop Apple from dominating and changing the market, so I a crowded market a deterrent to Apple to re-introduce TV to the world? NO

Second point: The way TV is done by current competitors and Apple themselves, is that the focus is being heavily shifted to go through the web, which of course traditional media firms don't like. But what if you have an appliance that connects the way it did to traditional networks but once contents gets in you can control it the way you want. Apple is about user experience, maybe they have developed a way to make traditional TV more fun and interactive to use.

Third point: Apple is an electronic appliance company now more than ever and have been eyeing on capturing the living room for a while now. The TV is the center of the living room and instead of plugging in on to one why not make an actual set, that way you cut out competition from more established appliance manufacturers?

Fourth point: Apple already has a game console which is considered the hub of home entertainment, it's called iPad.

So is it still impossible for Apple to bring out a TV? NO. So let's just wait for new information to come.


Pls look at post #94. Numbers speak for themselves and they tell me Apple won't get into TV business. Who's going to pay 2k every 2 - 3 years for a TV?

shervieuxApr 1, 08:12 AMThat may be ok in iOS and on my iPad as it is easy to use with touch technology, but as more and more business professionals are adopting mac laptops, iMacs or Mac Pros - that is very unprofessional looking to be on a potential business computer. I know Apple wants to be uniform across devices and we are moving closer and closer to everything being iOS as the main operating system. But seriously, businesses will think that is not professional and we are going back to the non-uniform weird looking DOS-based application days. It is true, there is no uniforminality in the apps in the app store. It is having a consistent UI that made it easier for everyone to adopt Windows back in the day. Every application had the same looking and functionality in the GUI; so there was no learning curve.

That iCal may be easy to use, but is unprofessional looking for potential business computers. Also, many people use ical as it integrates so well with other applications. I still say combine Apple Mail, iCal, and address book into 1 application - so I do not have to have 3 apps open taking up screen space and using more resources. That is what we have in Windows and Linux.

AND KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL LOOKING!

As from what people are posting on the new iCal and Apple Mail, I am afraid the OS is becoming less business intuitive, less functionality, less uniforminality among apps. Something that may hurt Apple more with trying to integrate into the business world.

With the old iCal, I can choose what events I want to see. I can have separate calendars for items, etc. I have several apps that have their own calendar in ical - which allows me turn on or off viewing them with a check box.

edit - Although I am looking forward to a uniformed iChat.

I personally think they're going to kill Charlie off, Alan gets the house in the will, and then Judith kicks Herb out and Herb moves in with Alan. Herb and Judith's marriage has been rocky, I think the writers did that so they'd have a plan when Charlie Sheen inevitably went off the wagon.

The people who care about the platform are developers, which are kind of important to everyone who uses the platform.

Great. But that doesnt mean that tablets and PMPs should be lumped with smartphones when you're comparing smartphone OS.

reducing the number of cables connected to his computer is what he would be doing. Just one TB could possibly handle all of the cables through a hub.

1) Unrealistic expectations of traders (thought results would be better)
2) iPod sales rate dropping (hard to grow when they own the market)
3) No really big MacWorld announcement this year
4) Overall sales of iPhone slowing and not spectacular during holidays
5) Sales of iPhone in Europe lower than expected
6) China told Apple to get lost (no iPhone sales to largest market)
7) iTunes may be #1 music site but Amazon hurting it. Also qtrax may kill it.
8) Netflix set to take air out of movie rentals from iTunes (free vs. rent)
9) iTunes loss of TV media as they fight with studios over revenue
10) Even though Apple's percentage of PC sales has gone up, that means
