Ha zeNov 20, 09:03 PMi don't see why so many people think iChat on a phone is so crazy or why it would need to be wifi.

i have a button on my Razr that is a direct connection to AIM so instant messaging from a phone isn't crazy, two of the people on my buddy list are on mobile phones.

iChat would be faster then texting and just cause this "second phone" would be very iChat based doesn't mean it wont be a phone. It sounds very sidekick like and the sidekick of course has AIM on it.

If they make a phone that will beat the Sidekick (shouldn't be too hard) then i'm in, i'd prefer that then just a a regular candy bar phone

How on Earth is a patent like that supposed to promote innovation?
(the original reason we got the patent system back some centuries ago)

Apple will surely manage this, but what about the independent developer with no huge pile of cash to throw at some lawyers? THAT is the problem here.. :(

Are there any cases of giant companies suing indies for patent infringement? I realise it often happens the other way around, but I can't recall a case where some poor indie is muscled out of business via a patent. It just doesn't seem worth it.

Even if it where true, what's wrong with treating prisoners humanely? Shouldn't we try to rehabilitate prisoners so if they are released they don't commit another crime? And in the US at least prisoners can't vote, could you show a source saying that they can it the UK?

Russell LJan 11, 03:26 PMI love my 2003 Passat, which is still going strong (though it was not without its problems). Its size is also perfect for me. I really didn't like the styling of its successor, which just looked too bloated, and the thought of an even larger one just makes me cringe. The new one looks pretty boring and generic, IMO. Guess I'll stick it out with my 2003 a little longer....

I'm considering the 3.4 GHz i7 & the 2 GB 6970M GPU.

Unfortunately, in its specs, Apple lists only the idle noise level. I realize that noise level depends on temperature, hence load, but it can be measured. But measuring it is so often not done. And an Apple Store is hardly an ideal environment for stressing a system to hear how loud it gets.

Now I suspect that Congress will want to bring non-carriers under their wing as well.

Smartphones used to be a pretty sleepy backwater area, where the press rarely bothered much. Now they're daily headline news, under extra scrutiny.

I receive 1080i HDTV signal via satellite. Gotta love MonstersHD. :D
